Born on the Côte d'Azur, Lionel Borla moved to Marseille to study architecture; he still lives in the heart of this city. It was in 2000, after his first exhibitions, that he chose to devote himself fully to painting. His figurative style is pleasantly stylized.
We recognize his works by the slender silhouettes that inhabit his works. They are all symbols of the human spirit which travel between landscapes and architectures and draw the public into a world of colors and harmony. Music, often present, punctuates the paintings. “My work is focused on graphics and I like to draw on paper. Miro, Matisse and Sonia Delaunay are the basis of my inspiration, ”he explains. "I try to invite the person looking at my paintings to a silent and peaceful journey".
